Think like a tired guest
A guest should not have to open every cabinet to find a fresh towel, extra toilet paper or a simple toiletry. Keep the few universal needs visible or clearly contained, and remove medication or sensitive items from shared storage.
A small lidded basket can hold travel-size basics and other practical backups. Check it twice a year rather than maintaining a miniature hotel every week.
Prepare the room in one loop
Start at the door and move clockwise: clear the counter, wipe the mirror and sink, replace the hand towel, check soap, empty the bin and confirm toilet paper. A fixed sequence prevents the last-minute feeling that something has been forgotten.
Good lighting and a working lock matter more than decorative extras. Test both before company arrives.

Avoid permanent guest clutter
Do not sacrifice the room’s daily usefulness for occasional visitors. Store guest linens together outside the bathroom if humidity or limited cabinets make the room a poor home for them.
After guests leave, wash and restock the kit promptly. Returning the room to normal is part of the system.
